Meet our School Council
We are Ysgol Penrhyn’s School Council. At the start of every school year each pupil has the opportunity to stand as a candidate in the School Council election. Every child votes and the two children with the most votes from each class become School Councilors.
The School Council aims to give the children a voice. It allows them to express their opinions and ask questions. It gives children the opportunity to be listened to and for them to organise appropriate action. Council members take suggestions, made by their classmates, to meetings where they are discussed and decided upon by a vote.
Aims:
- To represent the class so everyone has a voice.
- To make our school even better.
- To make small changes that will make a big difference.
What we have already done:
- Organised our Penrhyn’s got talent competition
- Found ideas to encourage children to improve their attendance.
- Made Mrs Davies pay us for coming to school.
What we will do next:
- Collect ideas from our class for World book day.
- Get the playmakers to set up zones on the playground to help us play better.
- Get Year 5 to show us how to use the new sensory garden.
